Speaking

Lessons from the extreme.

Real experiences. Practical perspectives.

I turn experiences from ultra-endurance sport, leadership and business into practical perspectives on performance, resilience, commitment and decision-making.

Night running, Kullamannen by UTMB, Sweden.

The source

Not a talk about running.

Running 100 kilometres, racing for 24 or 48 hours, or crossing mountains through the night creates extreme situations. But many of the questions are surprisingly familiar.

  • Why are you doing it?
  • How do you turn an ambitious objective into a realistic plan?
  • What do you do when that plan fails?
  • How do you make decisions when you’re exhausted?
  • How do you remain committed when the finish line is still very far away?
  • And how do you prepare for something when you know you cannot control everything?

These aren't only sporting questions. They are questions about performance, work and life.

Keynote themes

Four themes. One source.

Each talk is adapted to the audience, the objectives and the format of the event.

  • Going beyond perceived limits

What happens when we stop defining our potential through what we have already done?

  • Resilience & adaptability

Preparation matters. So does knowing when reality requires a different plan.

  • Performance under pressure

How preparation, routines and decision-making influence performance when fatigue and uncertainty increase.

  • The long game

Motivation comes and goes. Commitment, consistency and purpose sustain ambitious goals.

What audiences take away

Perspectives you can use.

  • A different perspective on ambitious goals

How preparation and breaking down a major challenge can turn ambition into something you can actually work towards.

  • How to adapt when the plan stops working

Why preparation matters, and why adapting without losing sight of the objective matters just as much.

  • A better understanding of long-term commitment

What helps us continue when motivation fades and the finish line is still far away.

  • A reason to question perceived limits

How experience, preparation and mindset can change what we believe we are capable of.
